Morteza Esmaeili- Biography
Morteza Esmaeili received the M.S. degree in Mathematics in 1988 from Kharazmi University, Tehran, Iran, and the Ph.D degree in Mathematics (Coding Theory) in 1996 from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.
The following two years he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada.
Since September 1998 he has been with the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran, where he is now a Professor.
He joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Victoria, Victoria, B.C., Canada, as an Adjunct Professor in July 2009.
His current research interest lies in the areas of machine learning, wireless sensor networks, smart city and
internet of things, including topics in information theory, cryptography, network coding and network security,
subspace codes and distributed storage systems, combinatorics and its application to communication theory.
