Dr. Ali A. Ensafi graduated with a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry (Ph.D.) from Shiraz University (Iran) in 1991. He then joined the Department of Chemistry at Isfahan University of Technology (Iran) and became a full professor in 2001. He also joined the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville, AR, USA) as an Adjunct Professor in 2021. As a visiting professor, he was at the University of Waterloo (Canada) during 1999-2000 and at the University of Arkansas (USA) during 2007-2008. He is currently the head of the Center of Excellence in Sensors & Green Chemistry of Isfahan University of Technology, and Head of the Department of Chemistry at Isfahan University of Technology, Iran. He has an H-index of 73, has published more than 550 ISI papers, and he has more than 150 international/national presentations. He has been awarded three international awards including 17th Kharazmi International Award, 16th International Razi Festival, and 3rd International Allameh Tabatabaei Festival. He is the co-author of three books (Academic Press & Springer publishers), Editor of “Electrochemical Biosensors” (Elsevier), Associate Editor of Journal of the Iranian Chemical Society (Springer publisher), and member of the Editorial Board of 15 International Scientific Journals. Dr. Ensafi is among the top 1% of Scientists in Chemistry as stated by Thomson Routers, Essential Science Indicators. His research program is developing sensors and biosensors (based on electrochemical and spectroscopic methods) and new energy source-based nanomaterials for fuel cells, supercapacitors, and storage energy.
