1 — Education
Dr. Davood Mostofinejad began his studies in civil engineering at the University of Tehran and continued at Isfahan University of Technology for his bachelor's degree. He then earned his Master's degree in Structural Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, and finally received his Ph.D. in Concrete Structures in 1997 from Carleton University, Canada. His doctoral dissertation, titled "Ductility and Moment Redistribution in Continuous FRP Reinforced Concrete Beams", laid the foundation for a broad research field that has since become one of the most distinctive areas of his work.

2 — Teaching Career at IUT
He joined the faculty of Isfahan University of Technology in 1987, and over nearly four decades he has taught a wide spectrum of courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels — from foundational subjects such as Statics, Mechanics of Materials, and Structural Analysis, to specialized undergraduate courses including Reinforced Concrete Structures I & II, Concrete Technology, Structural Loads, and the RC Structures Project; and advanced graduate courses such as Strengthening of RC Structures, Advanced Concrete Technology, Prestressed Concrete, Matrix Analysis of Structures, and Advanced RC Structures. His teaching style has been consistently recognized over the years, and he was honored as an Exemplary Lecturer of the University in 2002, 2010, and 2012.

3 — Research & Teaching Achievements
His research over this period has concentrated on reinforced concrete structures and concrete technology. Above all his achievements, the invention and development of the innovative EBROG (Externally Bonded Reinforcement on Grooves) method stands out — a technique now internationally recognized as a leading approach for strengthening concrete structures with FRP composites. Other notable contributions include the development of ultra-high-performance fiber-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC), bacterial self-healing concrete, and novel seismic retrofitting techniques. The fruit of these scientific efforts includes 15 books, over 350 ISI journal papers, more than 270 scientific-research and conference papers, 13 national and international patents, and the supervision of more than 170 graduate students (including 28 Ph.D. and 130 Master's graduates). He is ranked among the Top 1% of Civil and Environmental Engineering scientists worldwide (2025) and has remained in the Top 2% of the world's scientists for six consecutive years (2020–2025) according to the Stanford/Elsevier ranking.
