About me

Academic background

I’m an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Engineering, with a background that started in Electrical Engineering. I completed my Bachelor’s in EE at Sharif University of Technology, followed by a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering, also at Sharif Uni. I later moved to Canada to pursue my PhD at McGill University, where I became even more fascinated by intelligent systems and data-driven computing.

Work experience

Before joining academia, I spent several years working in industry in Canada, building real-world engineering AI solutions and gaining practical experience that still shapes the way I teach and do research.

My current interests

My current interests lie in AI applications in signal, image, and video processing, as well as large language models. I really enjoy working with students, exploring new ideas, and bringing AI into real-world applications.

What else?

Outside of academic life, I love reading and hiking—whether it’s getting lost in a good book or on a new trail, both keep me energized and inspired :)
